Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (ZDF), Germany's public broadcaster, uses Agility software to speed Web publishing of news highlights for heute.t-online.de, the online news portal it operates in cooperation with European ISP German Telekom.

Using Agility, ZDF encodes news and information programming received from over 1000 daily news reports and repurposes the programming for heute.t-online.de. Agility ingests the MPEG-1 news feeds directly from an Avid® Media Browse™ 2000 news system. Using pre-set profiles, Agility automatically applies preprocessing filters, encodes each segment simultaneously into 300 kilobits per second (kbps) and 56 kbps Windows Media and RealVideo versions, and automatically posts the segments onto the portal's Web server where it is available for Internet access.
